Day 284 – Red Sunflower

These red sunflowers were calling out to me to photograph them today.  Somehow I think these flowers are artificially colored too . . . the water started turning red when I put the flowers in.  But I still thought they were pretty.

    1. Very true. I have no qualms about using filters and effects to make my photos the way I want them to look. In fact, I’m going to start doing more of that after I finish out this year of a photo a day. That’s taking all my photographic energy right now. I think the pressure of taking a photo a day doesn’t allow me the time to really make something special. But, I’m down to 81 days left so I’m not going to give in now.

      1. Were I doing it, I would stop with a day left, just to say “365 days, you’re not the boss of me!!”

I suppose it would actually be with two days left, since this is a Leap Year!

Hey! . . . you can do both! Do 365 days AND not finish out the year! Sweet.

  1. I love the dyed sunflowers. Your photos of them are so cheerful. I for one will take 12 and 1/2 months to do my 366 photos. Sometimes life just gets in the way. And though I have loved it, I know that next year I will do a weekly post with a series of 7 photos. That will work for me. A photo a day takes as much time (almost) as cropping and sizing 7 photos. 😀

    1. Thanks, Shez. I’m still trying to figure out what I’ll do for next year. I know it won’t be a photo a day. But I’ll figure it out. As long as I’m working full time, I just don’t have the time to devote to my photos that I would like.

  2. Hi Maralee,

Beautiful photography work. Thanks to this beauty I’ve found a new sunflower to add to my crochet sunflower e-book! Love the look. It creates such a peaceful feeling. I wish you were near to work as my photographer for my crochet flowers. That would be awesome. Great work!
