We had our first sign of fall this morning – frost. This is my favorite time of the year; the nights are crisp and cool and the days are pleasantly warm. It’s the perfect time of year for a bonfire. And Friday night after a week of work is even more perfect.

I have always been mesmerized by fire. I can sit and watch the flames dancing about for hours.

I find it very relaxing. And what is a bonfire without s’mores.

It was a gorgeous evening. The sunset was spectacular and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. We watched the moon and stars come out and even saw the space station float by overhead.
What a great way to start the weekend.

Maralee

lovely set effectively catching the mood
Thank you, Scott.
Hmm . . . Pyromania! 🙂
🙂
Nah. I have a hard time even striking a match :-). But I do like to watch the flames dance..
😉
Good work shooting the fire! And your half moon is exquisite!
Thanks, Carissa. I have a lot of fire shots that I had to toss. The fire changes every second.
Maralee … what wonderful shots …. The fire ones are so delicate and inviting … like I can feel the heat. Your moons are getting more and more magical. My pick is the first photo.
Thanks, Viveka. It was such a nice night. The air got cold once the sun went down, but the fire was so warm and inviting.
Yes, the first photo – showed what a wonderful .. evening you was going to have. Especially in the evenings that little autumn chill are very noticeable .
Wow how well you captured the fire and flames.. magical… but your moon captures are something else… beautiful…
Thank you, Rob.
Your 4th photo down looks like a sea horse to me (the fire).
It does look like a seahorse. Kaye said you’re going to be in GM this fall. Wish I could get up there.
Wow. These shots are all stunning. The fire ones mesmerize, and the moon shot is gorgeous.
Thank you, Zelmare. There is something about fire that soothes and mesmerizes me. Maybe its in my DNA dating back to cave man days.
Beautiful images. I love fall as well and now you have put me in the mood for cool evenings and smores!! 🙂
Thanks, Susan. This is my favorite time of year – warm, sunny days and cool, crisp nights. I wish Fall would last longer than it usually does.
