It has been very hot here lately. We have wildfires north and south so no matter which way the wind is blowing, we have smoke in the air. I have a number of allergies and all of this smoke, plus weed pollen and dry air has been affecting my breathing. Needless-to-say, I tend not to spend much time outdoors these days. So . . . I’m doing my photos close to home and that means more flowers.
The purple flowers are blooming right outside my front door. They just started blooming a few days ago. It started with one and now we have a bunch. There was another cone flower that bloomed and the leaves look much different from the coneflower I photographed earlier.

The white flowers are part of the bouquet we had at the office a few days ago. Today I concentrated on these rather than the lilies.
We are supposed to have thunderstorms this weekend. Hopefully they will come with a lot of rain to alleviate the possibility of more wildfires, and at the same time clear the air of some of the smoke and pollen.

Maralee

I hope the wildfires go away soon.
Thanks, Christine. We’re hoping the thunderstorms predicted come with a lot of rain to prevent more fires.
Oooh…. I love the last shot! Love the balance of light and dark. Nice composition.

Sorry, to read that the wildfires are still alive and about your allergies, but flowers are fantastic objects for eye and camera. My Friday pick .. is the last one. Love the pale pink in the petals – and the middle is so clear. Beautiful – have a nice weekend.
Thank you, Viveka. The flowers this time of year are beautiful. You have a nice weekend, too.

Thank you, Nia. You have a wonderful weekend too.
I really don’t like that time of year when the wildfires pop up all over the place. Love the pictures, and the last one is my favourite. 🙂
I don’t like wildfire season either. But it happens every year. Some years are worse than others.
