We had another beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered to our office yesterday with some gorgeous yellow lilies.  I’m never one to pass up the opportunity to photograph some beautiful flowers.

I wanted to try some different macro exposure to get both soft focus and totally in focus.  I tend to prefer soft focus flower photos but I know a lot of people prefer their flower photos to be totally in focus.  It’s all about personal preference – no right or wrong.

  1. Well all I can say is you can’t get closer than that.. surely not… but I am one that likes both sharp and soft and these are just brilliant… the last photo is some thing really special… a master piece… not that the others aren’t they are just as good… in fact the first one had me having a good look before moving down, marvelous… if I was closer I’d send you flowers everyday just to see how you would capture them…. outstanding set these absolutely marvelous…

      1. Our wild flowers here would have you running around not knowing which to shoot first… Our national flower the Protea would blow your mind..Google it and see.. in the Cape (the southern tip of Africa) it rains in the winter and late rains bring on masses of flowers, an attraction that brings many foreign visitors to our shores at that time… I’ve stood in fields that as far as the eye can see is just flowers… but even the flowering trees and natural bushes would fascinate you… well worth the “come, look, see”

  2. Wonderful … top one … my pick of yesterday *smile – really a lily-girl .. but I love the white long stalks. Living in UK they cost nearly nothing – my house was full of them – my bathrooms (2) and the stairs up to the second floor.
