A client brought in some lovely bouquets of lavender today – one of my favorite plants. I’m actually more fond of the fragrance of lavender but I do like to watch a lavender bush blowing in the wind.
My intention was to just photograph lavender, but the sun shining on my lupine plant was so pretty that I decided to make the post the color of lavender, rather than just the flower.

Love how these flowers photograph. Love the last one the most.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you, Francine.
Beautiful photos! I love the lighting in the last one 🙂
Thank you so much. The sun was just starting to go down and it was hitting the flower at just the right time.
Fields …. and fields of lavender in Provence – stunning sight – wonderful flower and the color when they stand in thousands and thousands. http://helensphotomania.wordpress.com/2012/08/04/a-walk-in-the-lavender-fields-a-final-blast-of-colour/ – very pretty shots today. Love my bugs … so the first one will my pick. Thank you so much.
Thanks, Viveka. And thank you for directing me to Helen’s blog. She has some wonderful photos. I’ve always wanted to go to Provence when the lavender are blooming. I was there about 10 years ago but it was too early in the year.
Maralee, you have to … put on your bucket list – and just do it. Yes, she has .. specially the lavender once. Stunning.
Beautiful photos I love the bee on the flower but the last shop is something special…
Thank you, John. I think it’s the lighting on the last one I like. The sun was hitting it just right before it sank behind the mountains.
I also love lavender – I always have a few shrubs of it in my garden. I moved here permanently in December, and soon after I planted 4 lavender bushes. They don’t look like much yet, but towards the end of the year they should start looking respectable!!! Love the first shot with the bee. 🙂
It seem like my lavender gets bigger and better every year. I love walking by the bushes and running my hand over it just to get that wonderful smell.
I love lavender, and lavender plants!
I do too. I have just a couple of plants but hope to plant more next year.
I always think of lavender as a field and it is quite beautiful. Focusing in on individual blooms reveals why that is so…
Lavender is one of my favorite plants – not so much for the flowers (although they’re beautiful), but for the scent. Even just walking by lavender bushes smells wonderful. Did you see a lot of lavender when you were in France?
Beautiful! 🙂
Thank you, Inga.
…..and another Russel Ray camping trip comes to an end………………..Hope all is well.
Thanks for checking in. All is well. Thanks for stopping by.
