Day 200 – Grass

While out on our walk last evening, I saw these grasses among the rye grass in the field across from our house.  These may be rye grass that has “flowered” or something, but they don’t look anything like the other rye grass.

I liked the softness of them.  The lighting was too dark and dull to photograph them yesterday so I went out today while the sun was out for a while.

    1. Thanks, Emilio. I didn’t realize how many different types of grasses there are until I started noticing things to photograph. I’ve come across several interesting grasses that I still have to get out and photograph.

  1. I’m planning on it. I go almost every year. Looks like the weather will cooperate – sometimes it doesn’t. Night glow is Friday night (I think) and I think I’ll take that in too. Are you coming up for that?

  2. the first one is pristine, I will look further, thanks for the link and comment,

this is a poor scan (you can see the dust) but if you click the thumbnail it is a reasonable shot. I call it Minnesota Saltire (can u guess why 😉

    1. I had to look up Saltire – never heard that before so I couldn’t guess why you called it that until I looked it up. How much time did you spend in the Boundary Waters? When I was much younger and still lived there, we’d go out for a week ever summer. It’s one of my favorite places.

  3. Beautiful photos. Amazing when you look at something close up you see it sometimes for the first time! I have taken photos of grasses like this, but only from a distance and loved the way they danced in the wind.

    1. Thank you so much. Thoses grasses were among a field of rye grass so and caught my eye as I walked past them. Its funny how we start noticing things to photograph wherever we go now. Every little thing has beauty.

I'd love to hear from you
