Day 183 – iPhone Photo

This has been a difficult weekend for me to get out and take photos.  I spent a portion of the weekend at the hospital with my husband who has a condition call A-Fib (atrial fibrillation).  It’s not life threatening but it is still scary.  This was his third episode in 5 years – so it isn’t a common thing.  When it didn’t resolve itself on its own, we took at trip to urgent care.  Needless-to-say, I didn’t want to venture too far from home.  He’s find now.

I haven’t done any iPhone photos on my blog yet but today that was about all I could do.  This was taken at a canal down the street from my house.  I tried to use the pic-grunger app to add some effects.  That’s the only photo app I have so far.

  1. The iPhone is an amazing device. Glad to hear your husband is doing better. My wife had her first episode with a-fib in January, caused by a nebulizer. Since she was having trouble breathing anyway, the heart condition wasn’t diagnosed for about 4 months. It is kind of startling to hear “heart condition” for the first time from your medical practitioner.

    1. Thanks, AJ. His doctor says that once you have A-Fib, you’ll have it again. His first episode was five years ago and the last one was a year ago. If it gets worse or more frequent, they can do an ablation. Has your wife had any other episodes? Hope she’s okay.

      1. My wife is still fighting to get over the first episode. There is no heart damage and the hope is that once she uses the cpap for awhile things will sort themselves out and the heart will go back into a normal rhythm. We’ll see.

  2. Glad to hear you husband is doing okay. Medical emergencies are a perfectly good excuse to forget all about us.

So far my a-fib is limited to teeny bursts, but they’re keeping an eye on it. Speaking of which, I better call for my check-up.

I’ve had mixed results with iPhone apps.

  3. Glad to hear that Clinton is doing okay. I wouldn’t worry if you have to miss your daily photos sometimes. It has been neat to follow along and get treated with beautiful photos every day.

  4. It’s a wonderful photo and I’m glad your husband is fine now. Hopefully he won’t have to go to the hospital again in a long time.

  5. It looks really nice. Like a painting. My brother-in-law had a similar thing, I think. I believe he eventually had some kind of surgery for it.

    1. Thank. There is a procedure called an ablation that they can do if it gets worse or more frequent. I think this heart thing is hereditary. Our son had the surgery for A-Fib – he was having regular episodes.

  6. How very pretty – it looks like a painting. 🙂 Hope your hubby is feeling a lot better, this illness sounds scary although I’ve never heard of it. Will do some reading-up on it.

    1. Thanks, Zelmare. He’s feeling better but still not back to normal. He has to check in with his cardiologist today. Although he has been converted out of A-Fib, his heart rate is up in the 140’s which is too high. Last time they had to cariovert (shock) him. We’ll find out more today.

  7. Glad everything is okay on the medical front. The photo looks like a painting. Until I read you post I thought you had taken a photo of a painting at the hospital. It’s great. 😀

  8. I hope of all my heart that … hubby are doing better by the day. Of course it’s scary for you – because you stand as an bistander. Love the shot …
