I’m still trying to get caught up with my posts after being away for the weekend last week. We had a number of bees buzzing around my chives flowers so I attempted to take photos of them. They’re quick little things and it was hard to focus on them.

We have some ice plants, aka Delosperma, that we planted several years ago. The first few years they did very well, but this year they seem to be struggling. We do have some yellow ones that are starting to bloom though.

Beautiful photos.
We have similar stuff to post, and I too am way behind in my posts. Nice Chive and bee shot.
That’s a Carpenter Bee . . . can you tell who bought a book on the insects of North America?
Thanks for the info. I’m going to have to get an insect book, a bird book, a flower book . . . and I’m sure many other books to identify what I’m taking photos of.
Lovely photos, specially the bee one I love to try to get photos of that nature… but then I get over enthusiastic and either the bee stings me for sticking my camera up his nose or as I press the shutter button he moves away and all I get is either blurred or blank… Love the photos.
I’m going to keep trying on the insects. I think I have to go out very early when it’s still cool and they’re not as active.
I’m a bug person – like photos of bugs … they are so hard working all the time out there – making sure that life goes on. Hard to catch on photo. You have done a great job here. Like the ant in the blue flower.
Thank you, Viveka. I’m going to keep trying to capture insects. They’re just so darned fast.
