Day 103 – Experimenting in Photoshop and NIK Software

I wanted to do some experimenting in Photoshop and NIK Software today and I could have played with it all night long.  I think it’s fun to try new things.  Some I like and some are a disaster, but that’s part of the fun of it.

Both of these photos were taken in the entryway of our house.  The first one is a corner where we have an old pot belly stove, a painting and an old empty window pane.  I wanted to give this photo and old-time feel and used both Photoshop and NIK software.

The second photo is just of the stove and the window pane.  The actual window pane has nothing behind it but I took a photo from outside our front yard and put it behind the window pane.

Because I didn’t have a lot of time, there is a lot I could have done to improve both photos.  But it was a fun experiment.

  1. They are both so beautiful, but the first one hit me much more… You did great job with them dear Maralee… Thank you, have a nice weekend, with my love, nia

  2. Fabulous job Maralee!! The first one is nice and looks almost like a water color painting and I am really amazed at how you were able to create the second photograph! I almost want to become a petulant child fold my arms and demand to see more! more! more! 🙂

  3. I love these and want to have a go at it. Were these mostly done in Photoshop? I don’t have that anymore and am missing it. It didn’t move with my last computer upgrade. You know I just realized you have another blog!

  4. Most of it was done in Photoshop. You should be able to reinstall Photoshop onto a new computer. They should have records of your purchase and can download it. I would check into it anyway. I really like NIK software too. They have a 15 day trial on all their programs which I used before I purchased it. You might want to check that out too. Their website is: http://www.niksoftware.com.
My second blog is just a fun one of our life adventures through the eyes of our cat, Tuxedo. I don’t write in that one as often as I’d like. I just run out of time. I’m working on a new post for that blog and hope to get it published this weekend.

  5. Brilliant …. job – amazing, only thing is … we can’t say today what is real and not real with some photos we see. A shame, because it’s not the job or eye of the person behind the camera. Top one, my pick.

I'd love to hear from you
