A few days ago I did a blog on a pincushion protea. While shopping again today, at the same store, they had a different variety of protea. I looked it up in my “protea encyclopedia”, i.e. the internet – I think it’s a Rose Mink Protea. These are the protea that I remember from Hawaii. They look as though they are covered in tiny feathers.
I took it outside in my yard so I could use natural light, rather than try to do it in my so-called studio, which is nothing more than a table with some utility lights. I’m a lot more comfortable with natural light.

Rose Mink what a perfect name for them, they do look like tiny feathers at the tips. So pretty!
Wow! I have never seen this flower, but now I want one. Thanks for sharing.
fascinating, the colour is so intense on the inside…
Have seen this flower before, but didn’t know it’s name. Truely a beautiful flower … with the little “mink fur” inside. Great photos again.
wow Maralee, this one’s amazing!
