There is a piece of wood across from where I live that looks like a piece of driftwood.  However, since we are 180 miles from the nearest ocean and there isn’t a lake within 10 miles of me, I believe it is actually a tree that was struck by lightning at one time.  On closer examination, I can see bits of charred wood on it.  But it has been there longer than I have lived here and the blackness from the burn has worn off.  If only this piece of wood could talk, I’m sure it could tell a lot of stories.

    1. Thanks. Yes, I did use HDR. I took 5 exposures with .7 stop between bracketed shots. It was hand held – I didn’t have my tripod. I usually use my tripod when I do HDR to get the photos in exactly the same spot.

  1. Thanks so much. Yes, I did use HDR. I took 5 exposures with .7 stop between bracketed shots. I didn’t have my tripod with me so it was hand held. I find I have some success with certain photos using HDR and some I have no success with HDR. This one worked for me.

  2. You done it again …. you’re very good. Love the first and last – nearly the same angle … but so different. Like photo’s with wood as motive … givse different texture and pattern to the photo’s even it’s from the same piece of wood .. and all different angles.
