I’m getting an early start on my blog today since it’s Saturday. Winter has arrived!!! We have had a fairly snowless winter so far this year, but overnight last night it started snowing and I woke up to everything blanketed in white. We went from 60 degrees yesterday to 25 degrees today. Such is life on the high desert.

I wanted to get out early to take some photos of the snow on the plants outside before the wind picks up and blows it all away. I put a vignette around all of the photos to give them a softer look.

Speaking of high desert, northern Nevada is going through the same thing. It was in the mid-60s yesterday. Local skiers have just about given up. A few puny storms have come through, but nothing worth mentioning, really. Lovely photos.
I was afraid we would have a late winter. It sounds like this system is supposed to hang around for a few days. Great for the skiers, I guess.
Oh my gosh ~ these images are just dreamy and beautiful!!
Love these. They’re so simple and clean.
Thank you so much.
you’re very welcome.
Wow Maralee, love the photos, Such a beautiful collection…colours/ composition… gorgeous!!!
Thank you Joanna. I haven’t done much shooting in snow so I was happy how they came out. It’s gotten very windy now so i’ll have to wait until the wind dies down a bit and then try some more different things.
Snow are like friendship … it soften everything it falls on. Really like your photos and i love snow.
I enjoy the snow too. I’d much rather have the snow than rain. When it snows it’s just so quiet and peaceful and clean.
Beautiful – they are all like Christmas cards, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. 🙂 And I’m jealous – we are still melting with heat!
Thanks so much. I’m waiting for it to warm up a bit here, but I don’t like it when it gets too warm. I need to find a place where the temps stay between 50 – 78 degrees.
wonderful photography!
