These geese flew right over my head while walking this week. They were almost too close to get a decent shot with a 300mm lens. Then they landed just upstream from where I was walking and met up with another group of geese. Maralee

I t has always amazed me to see the large, ungainly looking birds, balance themselves on one foot standing on a rock. They do it all the time, but it just doesn't look natural. Maralee
Jays
I had two different jays competing for food at the feeder last week . . . a scrub jay and a steller's jay. The scrub jay won. Maralee
Hummingbird
I still have one hummingbird showing up at my feeder. Maybe it's the same one who stayed around half the winter last year. Maralee
Yellow-Rumped Warbler
This cute little bird appeared at my feeder yesterday. Apparently it is a very common warbler but I don't recall seeing it before. I hope it sticks around to add a little color to the gray winter ahead. Maralee
