There is an art sculpture at the river called “Kingfisher Perch” which was installed in 2016. Up until this past weekend, I had never seen a kingfisher perched on the sculpture. This one seemed to be enjoying the view.
Thats great… love your comment about the location. It rather reminds us of our philosophy when visiting Bird Reserves, I think in the States you call them refuges. Many are noted for the special species that have made their homes on the Reserve. We have spent many an hour, some times a day search for that special bird, often failing. But as we sit in the car park catching our breath and having a drink, you can usually guarantee that said missing bird will come and sit in the car park ‘people watching’ Happens more often than one thinks 🙂
