On our last morning in the Mara we came across the pride of lions we had been watching throughout the week. It had rained the night before and the lions had made several wildebeest kills. We watched this lioness drag this dead wildebeest across the plains back to the pride. An adult wildebeest can weight up to 600 pounds and an adult female lioness weighs between 265-400 pounds. This was not an easy haul for her. She had to stop quite often to catch her breath. Life isn’t easy in the wild.
