The skeleton seems odd. Specifically, the fact the hippo died (and decomposed) with its mouth wide open.
Do you know if they posed it?
I don’t think it was posed. There are a lot of lions in the area and it’s not unusual for lions to kill hippos. We saw a lot of remains along the side of the road. This was near our camp and we would regularly see hippos walking through the area.
Actually, I just noticed the piece of wood stuck in the jaw. That’s probably what’s keeping it open.
Look at how pink their bellies are and that skeleton???? wow!
