I went walking yesterday and since it was during the middle of the day I did not expect to see any of the owls. So I was surprised to see one of the owlets sitting in a sandy area at the base of the rocks where I usually see them. My first concern was that it was injured. But then it flew a short distance down the base of the rocks. It seemed very interested in the trees around it and kept looking up. Maybe mom, dad or sibling was sitting in a tree. I continued my walk and when I returned a short time later the owlet was gone.
