On our last day in St. George we went to Kolob Canyon – a part of Zion National Park but it has a separate entrance. It isn’t as busy as Zion but it is incredibly beautiful.
We drove to the top of the canyon where this is an overlook and a 1/2 mile hike to another overview.
The rain we had two days earlier had been in the form of snow at this altitude. At 7000 feet elevation, it was much colder, too. There was still snow on the trees but none on the trail itself . . . only mud.
Stunningly beautiful, and not a sign of man’s invasion to be seen anywhere!
This area of the park doesn’t have nearly as many visitors as the main part of the park. We only saw 3-4 other people while we were there.
Heaven on earth!
