The day after the thunderstorm, we woke to cloudy, but dry, weather. Our plan was to do some hiking in Snow Canyon State Park which was only about a 10 minute drive from where we were staying.

Our first hike was a Jenny’s Canyon. It was a short, easy hike to a small slot canyon. With all the rain the area had this spring, the cactus’s were in bloom and they were beautiful. A portion of the trail is closed in the spring to protect the natural habitat – particularly tortoises.

Our second short hike was at Pioneer Names. Like the name indicates, there is a large wall that was written on by early settlers back in the late 1800’s.

Our last hike of the morning was at Petrified Sand Dunes. This was a fun hike where you can walk on and among these beautiful petrified sandstone sand dunes. The hike to the top provides beautiful panoramic views of the area.

This area is meant for panoramic photos. It is stunning.
Well that is a landscape we just don’t have….. looks a great photo location. 🙂
It is a beautiful area. I would like to have had more time there.
Very striking country.
It is very beautiful.
Had lunch in St. George recently 😉
We had lunch at a couple different places – George’s Corner and Painted Pony. Both were wonderful.
I think we ate at the Black Bear diner on our way up to Torrey.
Gorgeous images, Maralee!
Thank you very much.
Wow!
Thank you.
