We took a day trip over the mountains yesterday to attend an event. Normally I don’t like to drive over the mountain passes in winter but winter has not yet arrived here. In fact, it was a gorgeous, sun-filled day and the mountains were spectacular.
We didn’t have time to stop to take photos so all of these photos were taken from a moving vehicle going 60 mph (I wasn’t driving).
These photos are of Mt. Jefferson on our way to Portland.

Maralee
Not a bad bit of scenery to go past, even at speed.
On a clear day you must be able to see that peak for miles – how far were you from it when these were taken, Maralee!?
We were about 20 miles away. I used a telephoto lens. The mountain I’m going to post tomorrow we drive within 5 miles. It’s a beautiful mountain range. In a clear day we can see these mountains from over 100 miles away.
Wow!
