I have always been drawn to black and white photos. When I was shooting film, most of my photography was in black and white and I did my own developing. After switching to digital, I lost that art. So I’ve decided to go back and convert some of my photos into black and white. Here are two – a killdeer and a heron in the reeds.

Maralee
Beautifully done, Maralee. The Killdeer reflection is wonderful. Darkroom days were fun but thank goodness for digital. 😁
Thanks, Jane. I don’t ever regret going digital, but I did enjoy the peace and calm of the darkroom. I hated the setup though. It was a pain.
Nice. I often play with B&W just to see what it looks like and I’m usually pleased.
You might consider contributing to Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness. Not a contest, just a weekly post composed of images people submitted.

You don’t have to contribute, but it can give you ideas of different treatments and subjects suited to B&W.
I’ve posted in monochrome madness a couple of times but I always seem to forget to send anything until after I’ve seen the weekly post. I should market on my calendar.
Beautiful work! I like this very special expression of black and white photos
Thank you very much.
