I went down to the river for the first time since I started having ankle problems and there were a couple of killdeer on the mud flats. I heard them before I ever saw them. They have a very distinct voice.
Hope you are feeling better, Maralee. I love your shots– the Killdeer are fascinating when they feign injury to lure predators away from their young. Assume that’s not what you did with your ankle… 🙂
Thanks. Ankle is slowly improving. It’s an overuse problem – tendonitis in both ankles making it painful to walk. After a month in soft braces and a month in a boot with not much relief I’m going going to PT. I’m hoping that will help because the next step is surgery and I’d like to avoid that if at all possible.
I am glad that you were able to get out a bit, especially as it let you take a glorious set of pictures.
The recovery is very slow going but it felt good to get out for even a short distance.

Hope the PT helps. Sounds painful.
