The dark-eyed junco is a common bird here in the winter. This year we haven’t had much of a winter and I haven’t seen too many of them around . . . until today when we had a little snow. Then they were everywhere. They generally feed on the ground but occasionally they will visit the feeder. I look forward to seeing these cute little birds every winter.
They have the look of a bird whose designer started with one idea and finished with another.
An innovative designer. I like the look.
