Weathered: Old Homestead
This is a photo I took a few years ago of an old homestead outside of Madras, Oregon. We would pass by it whenever we were driving to Portland. Sadly, the building is no longer there. It collapsed sometime in the last year.

excellent shot…..very classic!
Thank you very much. It was a classic old house. It’s too bad it couldn’t have been preserved.
I think there is a quiet beauty in surrendering to time
It’s always sad when old structures vanish. Beautiful photograph!
Thank you very much. Now I have to find another favorite old building.
Love that sky….and the waving grasses. Spot on 🙂
Thank you, David. I loved that old house and I miss it now that it is gone.
Bet you do….I think we all have those ‘ordinary’ places that are special or just visually attractive to our eye. We revisit and reshoot and boy its a loss if they vanish 🙂
Love it.
Thank you, Teri.
Love it!
Thanks so much.
Love both the color and B&W versions of your old house, but I’m leaning more to the B&W. Just imagine all the stories this house could have told!
Thanks Donna. I think for the subject matter, black and white works better.
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Outstanding photo and artwork Maralee, it stirs so many mind images.
Thank you very much.
