I just found out that January 21st was National Squirrel Appreciation Day and I missed it!!!!

I guess many folk…including me…missed it. Better put it in your diary for next year. The Grey’s have been doing what squirrels do in spring for a few weeks now, I am told that in other parts of the U.K. where Red’s are still surviving that they too are ‘at it’! which is a few weeks earlier than normal. Another sign that, so far, our winter here in the U.K. hasn’t arrived.
I will mark my calendar for next year. 🙂 We have had such mild weather here this winter that I think many of the critters have come out early. We do’t usually see squirrels until later in the spring.
Don’t worry about missing it. From the look of these photos, they think that National Squirrel Appreciation is every day, and why not. 🙂
I’m sure the squirrel had no idea. But he knows a good thing when he sees it and he thinks our bird feeder is a good thing.
