Now that it is dark both before and after work, I’m having to bring my photography indoors. This creates a huge challenge for me. My biggest challenge is lighting . . . I don’t have any. So I have to work with what I have around the house.

I have a set of cordial glasses, each in a different shape and color. I tried with both a black background and a white background. Again, lighting was a struggle.

I converted one into black and white – it gave it a little more of an abstract look.

Like you, I’m on my way to work as the sun is coming up and it’s down by the time I leave work. There isn’t much to photograph around work that I haven’t already shot. It’s going to be a long seven weeks.
I really like the first shot.
Thanks, Carissa. Yes, it will be a long seven weeks. I have to figure out a way to celebrate on New Year’s Eve. 🙂
Loved the photos… something different from you… must be frustrating going to work in the dark and returning in the dark… not to worry your in house photos remain very interesting and educational…
Thanks, Rob. It makes it a little more challenging having it dark for so long during the day, but I shall persevere . . . It may force me to buy a soft light box. 🙂
Love the first photograph! Pretty glasses too. 🙂
Thanks, Zelmare. They are a pretty set of glasses. Fairly fragile too, so I don’t use them too often.
Tis was an exercise we did in my advanced photography class. I know how challenging it can be. I was stealing lights from all over the house.
Lovely results.
Thanks, Christine. The lighting is the hardest part for me. I may have to invest in a softbox. Last night I was using shop lights from the garage and they are way to strong. And they get hot, so I didn’t want to put a white sheet over it to soften the light. Lighting is an art in itself.
You are getting all commercial now – great shots .. fantastic – love you playfulness. *smile
My pick is the single dark photo – absolutely fantastic in my eyes.
Thanks, Viveka. The darkness has forced me indoors for many of my shots now. It makes me work a little harder. 🙂
You’re doing great … You have eyes for details .. you can use anything as object .. kitchen tools – knifes … whatever.
Great series. I prefer the first one as I like how the glasses look together against the white background.
