This isn’t part of my daily blog, but I wanted to post some photos I was experimenting with the Fourth of July Fireworks.
I get weekly photo tips from Picture Perfect School of Photography and they had one for fireworks that I thought was interesting. You can read more about it here. But it’s basically de-focusing while taking the shot.
These were taken from my back deck and I live about 2.5 miles from where the fireworks were going off. I think it would have been better to be closer.

They were cancelled here. Thanks for sharing these; they look very nice.
It sounds like fireworks were cancelled in a lot of places. We’re getting the hot, dry weather here now. It’s supposed to be in the 90’s with pop-up thunderstorms next week. We’re just starting fire season here.
We finally got some rain here last night. Also finally got my AC fixed (it’s been out for the last week and a half), but now the weather has turned cooler (68 right now), and will remain so for the next few days.
. . . I’m sure it will pick up again as we too are early in our fire season.
Love your firework photos they are amazing. I think you were at the right distance to capture them. Thanks for sharing.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you. I think the distance worked out okay, but next time I’d like to try it a little closer. There is a house behind us that blocks out part of the view so I could only capture the fireworks that went really high.
Great job! Love the first shot. =)
Thank you very much.
Very cool Maralee.
We didn’t go out to see fireworks this year. These are lovely!
Every year I tell myself I’m going to go closer to watch and every year I don’t. I think it’s the idea of the traffic and having to get up to so to work the next day. Maybe some year when they’re on a Friday or Saturday I’ll do that. 🙂
These are wonderful shots dear Maralee, Thanks and Love, nia
Thank you, Nia.
wonderful fireworks!
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
Beautiful fireworks!
Thank you, Alex.
You are welcome! Do drop by my blog too!
I did. I’m already following you. 🙂
Thank you so much!
These are great!
Thank you so much.
Oh well done!!!! Really stunning shots! I’m not good at shooting anything that moves, so I’m impressed! 🙂
Thanks, Zelmare. A tripod helps a lot for these shots. Its fun to experiment a bit.
Great… next year, I’m setting up my tripod!
As much as I dislike lugging my heavy tripod around, I’ve found it essential in most cases. If I could find a sturdy, lightweight tripod that didn’t break the bank, I’d be a happy camper.
