There are three things (probably more) that people who live in Bend love . . . their outdoor sports, their micro-brews . . . and their pets. Every Fourth of July, Bend puts on a pet parade through downtown. I had never been to one of the parades before and thought this would be a good year to go. I was unprepared for the number of people – both in the parade with their pets and watching the parade – with their pets. The entire town was wall to wall people. These photos are just snapshots. I got there just as the parade was starting and was about five people back. The weather cooperated – it wasn’t too warm yet. It appears that everyone and every pet had a good time.

Nice pictures, but man . . . I sure would not want to be on clean-up duty . . .
They had the horses and big animals go last. I think everyone else carried doggie bags. But I’m with you – after and hour of pets walking around, there must have been a lot to clean up.
Looks like a lot of fun!
It was fun and everyone had a good time.
I loved your pet parade. Especially the dog piggy back.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
There were a lot of people carrying their pets, but this was the only one I saw piggy back riding. And a fairly big dog too. 🙂
Love that image of the little girl giving a piggy-back ride to her dog! So cute.
Thank you. They were pretty cute.
Really looks like a good day was had by all, love the fact that the pets get involved…
Totally sweet! We missed our town parade this year… one that looks quite similar 🙂 Love the animal parts but can always do without the car bits.
Brilliant photos … fun and playful – didn’t notice any parade in Chicago!!!!! Wonderful photo’s. Love the one with girl with her pet on the back.
