Day 176 – Bite of Bend

Another reason I love living in Bend, Oregon is that there is always something going on – especially during the summer.  This weekend was the annual “Bite of Bend,” a charity event for the Boys and Girls Club.

More than 30 local food vendors set up shop on the streets of downtown Bend and sell various items from their menu.

Musical groups of all types perform at a bandstand throughout the day and into the evening.  We sat and listed to a great Irish band for a while.

A run for beer  is held on Sunday of the event and some runner were decked out in costumes.

The Top Chef competition that starts with 8 local chefs in a round robin competition that culminates with the Top Chef at the end goes through the weekend.

Of course, with Bend being one of the micro brewery capitals of the world, there has to be a beer and wine garden.

It was good to see people out enjoying themselves on a beautiful day in Central Oregon.

  1. Las Vegas and Henderson both have tons of street fairs for almost every ocassion. The problem is the temperatures. The fairs should be scheduled in early spring and late fall when the weather is bearable, instead of the 100+ temps we get in June, July and August! Some great shots!

I'd love to hear from you
