We had another big snow fall come through overnight and when I got to work this morning there were icicles all around the building. I thought the formations were very pretty. I didn’t have my tripod with me so all photos are hand-held. This afternoon after the sun tried to come out, I noticed they were dripping so I wanted to try to get a drop falling from one of the icicles. Not and easy task. I set my shutter speed at 1/1000 with continuous shutter and took a LOT of photos. I actually got three photos with drops but this one came out the clearest. I liked the little tiny drop between the big drop and the icicle.

Pretty amazing for handheld shots – and beautiful!
That third one looks eerily like the icy fingers of death, preparing to impart it’s gelid touch and rob someone of their life’s warmth . . . cool!
And the drop is neat, including the little one . . . it’s so cute when they first venture out on their own.
Beautiful photos! I am a WordPress photographer too, so I love seeing posts like this. Great job, and keep it up!
Thank you so much.
Lovely! Very persistent of you. 🙂 I love the extra “bonus” drop in the first shot.
Great shots Maralee. Am I the only one who sees a chicken in the icicle droplet? Well done.
Absolutely Amazing… I love the Icicle Drip.
Thank you so much. It took some time and patience but I’m glad I was able to capture it.
Stunning! 🙂
You’re so good … stunning photo’s again. Specially the top one. Can imagin that you had to take a lot of shots !!
Love the first one especially. It is amazing what water actually does rather than what we think we “see.”
This is life!
