I haven’t had much luck photographing birds in the afternoon recently so I went out this morning to see what I could find. These hooded mergansers were swimming fairly close to the river’s edge. Normally, the get as far away as possible when a human is in the vicinity.

Nice captures! It is amazing how they make a bee-line for the opposite side of whatever water they are on well before you feel close!
Beautiful shots! I’ve still yet to even see one.
