Last night I went with the photography meet-up group to photograph the Milky Way at the Dee Wright Observatory.

When we arrived there the sun had set but there was still some beautiful color in the sky. To the west there was some haze in the sky from the fires in the area but fortunately for us there was no smoke over the mountains.

It turned out to be a gorgeous night for Milky Way shots. We had about 1.5 hours of shooting before the moon started to rise and wash out the Milky Way.

I’m going to do another time-lapse and will post that another day.
