Our seasons here in Oregon seem to be Fall, Winter, Spring and Fire. Every summer we have to deal with wildfires – some cause by nature and too many by humans. This year is no exception.

The smoke does make for some beautiful sunsets though. The last few days we had smokey skies due to a large fire burning in the southern part of the state. While these photos don’t show it, the sun was actually a big, red ball.

I hit “like” even though, you know, fire . . . bad.
It has been so hot and dry that fire is a big worry right now. We’ve had numerous small brush fires close by but they’ve all been put out quickly. There is a big one in southern Oregon and one north of us so depending on the wind direction, we get some of the smoke.
Digital sensors do not pick up colour as much with bright objects. So the sun comes out whiter than you see.Film is better at capturing colour.
