I have found that many times photography is being at the right place at the right time. If I had arrived at the river a minute earlier or a minute later, I probably would not have seen this hawk. It was right above me as I got out of my car. Truth be told, I didn’t even know it had a snake in its claws until I downloaded the photos.

I followed it to where it landed on a rock and I could tell was eating something but I didn’t know what it was. I thought maybe it was a rodent with a long tail.

It was quite windy and gusty which made hand-holding the camera and long lens a bit
