Tour-Guide: Bend, Oregon
I have lived in several places that have been beautiful. First was my home town of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Second was Honolulu, Hawaii. I now live in Bend, Oregon and it is an incredibly gorgeous place to live.

Bend is located in central Oregon on the east side of the Cascade Mountain Range. We are considered high desert and are blessed with a wonderful climate. The summers are hot and dry with sunshine almost every day (except for an occasional “pop-up” thunderstorm in the afternoon, and in the winter we have snow with moderate temperatures.

We have an abundance of wildlife and you will regularly see deer living among us in town.

It is a very active sports community with biking, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding and just about any other sport you might enjoy. There are numerous lakes and rivers where you can enjoy fishing or boating.

The nights are cool and the skies are clear.

Bend is a wonderful place to live . . . or visit.
That is a remarkable guide to your locale. Very inviting!
Thank you very much. It is a beautiful place to live.
What a wonderful place to live.
It is. I love it here.
Sensational photos Maralee, especially the lake reflections. Well done 😊🏆
It seems truly a wonderful place to live and your collection is absolutely stunning, Maralee! WOW!!!
Thank you very much.
Very nice.
I’d move there for the cheese curd alone if it wasn’t for how unfriendly it is to retirees (Oregon is ranked something like 44th). About the only good thing for old folks like me is their right to die laws, but those are making headway (ever so slowly) in other places.
You’re right about the retiree part. But I still love it here. I loved Hawaii too, but way too expensive.
Actually, at least for the Big Island and discounting housing, it’s not that expensive. Taxes, insurance, food, health, pretty much most things are the same or less than where we were in Colorado. Housing is about the same as the current hot market in Colorado, meaning you’ll pay more for less.
I think the other islands are more expensive by a lot (and more crowded) but that’s why we picked The Big Island in the first place.
Love the little hummer 🙂 Great shots.
Thanks, Teri.
Lovely tour.
