Last evening was the “almost” annual Christmas Kayak Parade on the Deschutes River. I say almost because there have been years when it had to be cancelled due to snow storm (last year) or it was so cold the river froze over (a few years ago). But last night the conditions were perfect. It was a balmy 40 degrees and a bit overcast. Both kayakers and spectators turned out in droves. I’m just going to post the pictures for your enjoyment.
Merry Christmas,
Maralee

Nice. We missed this year’s boat parade (last year there were six boat . . . I hope there were more this year)
We had a very large turnout due to the moderate temperatures. No snow yet this year.
Oh what fun!
Thanks, Lulu. It was fun to watch and it looked like the kayakers were having a great time.
What an awesome, fun time! There are some really creative decorations for such a small thing to decorate. I’ve watched many Christmas boat parades on the Chesapeake Bay, but never have I seen one with kayaks. Marvelous!
It was a perfect year for it this year. The weather was moderate so it didn’t get too uncomfortably cold until later in the evening. This year was the most kayaks I’ve seen in the parade. I think the good weather had something to do with that.
