This bird was in my tree this week and I’m not sure what it is. I thought a robin but the markings are different from the robins I know. It was a very pretty and striking bird.
My resident ornithologist says it’s a Varied Thrush. It’s fairly common in Oregon and this is the time of year when they start showing up in back yards.
Probably a yellow-headed female blackbird. Or, a juvenile.

I suspect it’s a warbler Maralee.
