It’s been six months since I last saw the heron down by the river. While I was walking yesterday, I saw it standing on a log on the other side of the river. I had a difficult time getting a sharp shot of it – I wasn’t carrying my tripod. And my hands are quite as steady as they used to be.

At least heron’s try to make things easy for photographers by standing very still.
That they do. I probably could have gone back to my car to get my tripod and it would still have been there when I returned.
I am too lazy to carry my tripod about anything like as much as I should.
