I usually see a lot of Cedar Wax Wings earlier in the spring but this year I missed them. I saw these two while walking in the park. I didn’t have my telephoto lens with me and they were a little distance away so t his was the best I could do with a 90mm lens. I think they’re such pretty birds.

Beautiful birds and photos!
They are pretty, but there’s something about them that makes them look unreal or perhaps too perfect. Or is it just me thinking that?
When I first saw Cedar Wax Wings a few years ago I thought they had such a soft look about them. But my first immediate thought was “Zorro.” They have become one of my favorite birds to photograph and I really missed not seeing them this spring. Usually we would have a tree full of them for a couple of weeks before they moved on. This year I only saw a few one time until I saw these two.
We haven’t seen waxwings for two years now and your picture reminds me of what a loss that is.
