I just returned from spending four days in Idaho with family to attend our granddaughter’s high school graduation. We had a wonderful time and spent one day at Yellowstone Bear World in Rexburg, Idaho (see website here). It’s a wonderful place to bring the kids and being the animal lover I am, I had a photographic field day.
This peacock was in the petting zoo and most of the day was sitting on top of a small building. Just before we left in the afternoon, he started showing off to a female nearby and displayed his full plumage. He then did a 360 degree turn to show us all his glory. I’m so glad I didn’t miss that.

The unusual back view is very striking.
I had no idea this is what the back looked like. I’d always seen it from the front. I was pleasantly surprised.
Wow! Marla these are very cool captures. The second is surprising. And I bet you are very proud of your granddaughter, too. 🙂
This was the first time I’ve actually seen a peacock display its feathers. It was a nice treat. And I had no idea that the back looked like it does.
Darn spellcheck– Maralee, of course.
Maralee! These are beautiful beautiful images..
Thank you very much.
