Some months ago, I did a light painting project with one of the masks I got in Venice a number of years ago. Tonight I brought my camera indoors and tried it again with another mask. I wanted to go very simple this time, just the mask and one candle.
When doing light painting, there is a lot of experimenting with the light. I used a flashlight and the first attempts were way over exposed. These actually were only painted with about a 1.5 second exposure.
I did some cropping on these and added a softening effect.
I have one more mask that I will practice again with one day.

You did a wonderful job photographing this mask. I love the effect.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you, Francine.
I think you did a wonderful job of these photos Maralee… the effects are outstanding…
Thanks, Rob.
I want to try this again. I did a little bit of it when I took a photography class. Once it starts getting dark early I should be able to stay up late enough to be in the dark. 🙂
It’s easier to do it in complete darkness. It’s getting dark here about 7:30 so that gives me a little time. Another month and it will be dark at 5:00. 🙂
Very different. I love it! 🙂
Thank you, Zelmare.
I think you did really great with these. Wonderful shots of a beautiful mask. 🙂
Thank you, Inga. With the weather changing, I’ll probably be doing more indoor photos.
