Day 234 – In My Backyard

Mint Flower
Mint Flower

Yesterday I noticed a flowering plant in my herb garden and at first glance didn’t know what it was.  Today I looked closer and found that it is my mint that is flowering.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a big flower on a mint plant before.

Our crab apples are starting to grow but they don’t look very healthy.  Many of them had spots on them so I don’t think I’ll be getting too many apples from it this year.  I haven’t had much luck with that tree.

A dandelion in our yard has gone to seed.  I guess it’s time to mow the lawn again.

One of our pine trees has some long, narrow pinecones so I wanted to try some abstract photos with them.

  1. Wow but that camera of yours can make music… and the musician playing it is absolutely brilliant.. Maralee, these photos speak of a professional hidden in you… the last pine cone is something totally out of this world… one day I’m going to walk into a studio and say “who took that photo?” and they are going to say “Maralee” … and the problem is I’m not going to be able to afford it… but I will be able to brag “I followed her blog you know.”

  2. You and your camera are a great team – and that macro are working its money off … love them – the crab apples my pick of today. I miss my old camera and that fantastic macro I have.

I'd love to hear from you
