Day 106 – Lacrosse

Today I did something a little different – I went to a girls lacrosse game at one of the local high schools.  The team is called Bend United because it is not just representative of one school, but several schools in the district.

And she scores

I have never seen lacrosse being played before I enjoyed watching these young women play.  It was a good game, but unfortunately, Bend United lost to Roseburg.

The game was played at the peak of sunshine so there were a lot of harsh shadows.  Plus I had to used my telephoto lens and try get them while they were running using continuous focus.  Sports photography was a real challenge for me.

    1. Thanks. I had to get rid of a number of photos because they were blurry. The continuous focus on my camera works pretty well as long as I have the focus point on the subject. The hard part was keeping the focus point on the subject while she was running.

  1. You are good .. here, taking sport photo’s are a challenge – need high seep on the camera. Did ice skating many years ago with my system Canon and film, out of 100 – 3 came out good. Thank God for memory disc’s. Well done.

  2. The one thing that stands out out to me in most lacrosse shots are the darn mouth guards. For some reason I hate shooting lacrosse because of that. Always looks like everyone is out of breath. I have seen great shots from lacrosse, but the mouth thing ruins it for me. A fast paced sport that requires quick shooting. nice job

I'd love to hear from you
