I haven't had much luck photographing birds in the afternoon recently so I went out this morning to see what I could find. These hooded mergansers were swimming fairly close to the river's edge. Normally, the get as far away as possible when a human is in the vicinity. Maralee

I watched as 5-6 ducks came in for a landing and immediately the drakes went after the hen. I was afraid they were going to drown her but everyone came out of it alive. Maralee
