These red sunflowers were calling out to me to photograph them today. Somehow I think these flowers are artificially colored too . . . the water started turning red when I put the flowers in. But I still thought they were pretty. Maralee
Day 242 – Flowers
I came across these flowers in someone else's garden and had to photograph them. The lighting was mid-day so it was quite harsh. The only way I could get the sunflower was with the lighting in the back. The other's I tried to get close and avoid too much glare and shadow. Maralee
Day 180 – Opposites Attract
My favorite color combination has always been purple and yellow. I have some purple petunias that are blooming now and I picked up a few sunflowers to go along with them. There's something about this combination that just makes me happy. Maralee

Day 96 – A Splash of Yellow
I have always looked at sunflowers as a happy flower. It brightens the day and lifts your spirits. There are more than 30 varieties of sunflowers. I don't know which these are, but they are a nice prelude to summer to me. We have to go through spring first, but summer isn't far behind. Maralee
