A Couple of Old Coots

When I was down by the river this weekend, I saw these strange-looking birds.  I thought they were black ducks.  I searched the internet for black ducks with white bill and lo and behold . . . they're coots. Maralee

Tulips . . . V (Finale)

While most of my tulip photos were more of a macro nature, I did take a few photos of them all together.  I liked the blend of colors. Maralee

Tulips . . . IV (Backlit)

I wanted to try to get some photos of the tulips when they opened using backlighting from the sun.  We were fortunate to have a couple of beautiful, sunny days.  Today there was a lot of sunshine but there was a thin high cloud cover which made for a little more diffused lighting. Maralee

Tulips . . . II (White Tulips)

Today's installment of tulips is white tulips.  I was trying to photograph white tulips against a white background.  I was able to get the tulips white but he background turned gray.  So I had to do some adjustments in NIK Viveza to lighten the background a bit. Maralee
