The Great Blue Heron took off from a small island in the river to land on his perch on the opposite side of the river. Maralee
The weather has gotten a little warmer but the wind is still blowing and MyFavoriteHeron is still standing in the middle of the river.
A few snowflakes didn't stop MyFavoriteHeron from standing in the middle of the river. It was moving from spot to spot and I was hoping it would catch a fish but no such luck. It didn't stay long before flying off to a better fishing spot.
After standing in one position for an hour or so, even a heron needs to stretch.
Finally!!! MyFavoriteHeron went fishing. Granted, the conditions for photographing it weren't the greatest. Again, it was across the river, standing in the water in a shaded area of tall reeds, and with a dead tree stump in front of it. But you have to work with what you've got and at least you can see …
