The great blue heron that I've been stalking for the last few years was back at the river this week. Of course, it was across the river from where I was so these photos are cropped quite a bit. I hope it sticks around for a while and I can get some better photos. Maralee

Perfect Landing
I was walking along the river this weekend and watched this duck make a perfect landing. It hardly made a splash. Maralee
Cedar Wax Wings
It was a pleasant surprise to see these cedar wax wings mingling with the sparrows at my feeder this week. I always enjoy these little masked bandits. Maralee
Harassed Eagle
This eagle was being harassed by a much smaller bird. The little bird showed no fear in following the eagle everywhere. It was dusk and the quality isn't what I'd like it to be, but it does show the interaction of the birds. Maralee
