When we had our massive snowfall last month, I was a bit concerned about the heron. I was hoping it was okay. Last weekend when I was finally able to get down to the river, I found him in one of his favorites spots. He was fine. Maralee

The Hummingbirds Have Returned
I put my hummingbird feeders out last week even though we still have about 2 feet of snow on the ground. So I was a little surprised - and very happy - to see a hummingbird at my feeder yesterday. Maralee
Ring-necked Duck
There were several varieties of ducks on the river. This ring-necked duck was the first one I saw. They are a diving duck and a bit smaller than a mallard. I love the markings on his bill.
