We had a very heavy rainstorm come through Monday night. Looks like mom/dad sat vigilantly through the night in the pouring rain but looked a little bedraggled in the morning. Maralee
Miranda Friday
Miranda is terrified of anyone between the ages of 2-15. She will hide in her little shelter if she hears anyone in that age group in the office. Here, the look in her eyes says it all. Maralee and Miranda
Testing the Wings
One of the owlets was testing out its wings this morning while little sibling was watching. Both owlets were out of the nest on a branch. I don't think it will be long before they start flying. Maralee
Then There Were Two
I'd been told that there were two owlets in the nest but until today I had only seen one. Here they are together, although one is sleeping. The one you see is the second owlet. It has a totally different look about the face than the other one and is a bit smaller. Maralee

I went to check on the owl family today and baby was out and a little more active. It's already quite large and you can see the long talons in one of the photos. Mom and dad were standing guard nearby. Maralee
